This policy explains what personal information Beyond collects through this website, why, and the rights you have under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). It covers this marketing website. The separate guest WiFi we run for business clients is addressed in its own section below.

Who we are
Beyond is a company and an authorised Purple distributor. The responsible party for personal information collected through this website is Beyond AI (Pty) LTD (registration no. 2026/424350/07), registered at 20 Waterloo, Pinelands, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The guest WiFi we provide for clients
Separately from this website, Beyond supplies and manages guest WiFi for business clients on the Purple platform. For that service the client — the venue or business — is the responsible party for its guests' personal information; Beyond acts as an operator, processing that information only on the client's documented instructions, and Purple acts as a further operator. Guests' personal information is governed by the client's own privacy notice and Purple's end-user terms and privacy policy — not by this notice. That data is hosted by Purple in secure, ISO 27001-certified cloud infrastructure (for Africa, in London and Amsterdam), under the safeguards set out in the client agreement. This notice covers only the information Beyond collects as responsible party through this website.
What we collect
When you submit the demo-request form, we collect the details you provide: your name, work email, company or venue, your venue type, and your message. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes technical data such as your IP address and request headers to serve the site securely. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics (see our Cookie Policy).
On what grounds we process it
POPIA lets us process personal information on specific grounds. We rely on:
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a demo — because it is necessary to take steps at your request, and in our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To keep the site secure and working — in our legitimate interest in a safe, functioning website.
- To understand site usage via analytics — only with your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of operators who process personal information only on our instructions and are required to keep it secure:
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.
- Resend — delivering your form submission to us by email.
- Google Analytics — usage measurement, only if you consent.
We do not sell your personal information.
Sending information outside South Africa
Some of these operators process data outside South Africa (for example, in the United States). In line with section 72 of POPIA, we transfer personal information across borders only where the recipient is bound by rules or agreements that provide an adequate level of protection comparable to POPIA, where the transfer is necessary to perform our agreement with you, or where you have consented.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to follow up and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Analytics data is retained per the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise any of these, contact our Information Officer at [email protected].
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) — inforegulator.org.za, [email protected] — though we'd welcome the chance to resolve it with you first.
Direct marketing
We will only send you electronic marketing with your consent, or where we are otherwise permitted to under POPIA. Every message includes a way to opt out, and responding to your enquiry is not marketing.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse.
