The challenge: accessible patient and visitor WiFi
The Trust needed a WiFi service that met NHS Digital’s requirements while working with its existing network.
Healthcare WiFi can do more than provide internet access. St George’s Healthcare Trust used its existing wireless infrastructure to welcome patients and visitors.
A Beyond editorial summary of Purple’s published UK healthcare case study. The project was delivered with Purple and Softcat.
The Trust needed a WiFi service that met NHS Digital’s requirements while working with its existing network.
Purple and Softcat delivered a cloud-based service over the Trust’s Cisco infrastructure. It combined guest authentication, content filtering and reporting with NHS-branded sign-in pages.
The case describes control over sign-in information and browsing policies, plus branded pages for healthcare communications. Targeted health messages and easier online feedback were described as future opportunities.
Start with the people using the connection: residents calling family, colleagues using work devices and relatives coming to visit. Beyond can plan separate access journeys, connect them with existing systems and help your team manage the setup.
This is a UK hospital example, not a Beyond customer project or evidence of results achieved in a care home.
